Just received notice that the security officer who filed the report about the gunman on campus this morning....was lying. He was extensively questioned by the police and finally admitted to the hoax. He is in police custody. Well....can you even imagine why someone would do that? Think of all the people that were involved and scared and inconvenienced.
However, as the president of SU said, it was confirmation that their emergency system worked. Everything was carried out in accordance with the plans and procedures which were in place. He stated that his biggest relief was that everyone was safe. To which I say, "AMEN", and just never mind about the new crop of gray hair that I sprouted today!
And, Ian....it won't hurt for you to just remember all those words of wisdom you heard from your Mom this morning! :)

Of all things!! That is just crazy. Just as crazy as all the fake bomb threats our high schools around here have been HIGHLY inconvenienced by the past two years.

Hey, I was going to call you and tell you it was a hoax but clearly you've already heard.
I've only left school long enough to eat dinner tonight but I'm almost finished w/ one of my major projects (one of two which I have to finish before Monday.)

Ok...why? oh why? would anyone want to terrorize a whole campus and cause such turmoil for everyone. I hope he (the securtiy guard) gets some help...I think he's a bit troubled to do something like this.
I enjoyed reading Ian's comment to you...I love that he posted to let you know about the hoax...and that he is like most students...still cramming in projects till the very last minute...love that!
