AN AWARD AND A PRAYER
I received a sweet award last week from my friend, Nancy @ Too Wonderful For Me.I came upon her blog one day when she was just getting started and we realized that we live only about 85 miles apart, but different states. She is a sweet lady with lots of wisdom. I truly enjoy sharing with her everyday. Thanks again for this award, Nancy...I am blessed to call you 'friend'.
And so, I pass this on to:
Andi @ Fingerprints On the Glass...my sweet teacher friend who birthed 3 amazing boys
Sherrie @ Journey To Our Princess...and she left today to pick up her princess in China
Kat @ Just A Beach Kat...I checked and you don't have this one listed, so maybe I can finally give you one!
Holley @ Windy Corner...a new friend with the sweetest and most uplifting comments
My dear friend, Sherrie, is on a plane right now soaring over to China. She left this morning at 6 AM...the flight will only take 23 hours! Then on Sept. 1, she will get to meet her new daughter, Sophie Lyanna. They will remain in China until the 10th, to take care of paperwork and such, and then Sweet Sophie will be coming home to her new family. Sherrie's husband and oldest son are with her. She teaches at our school, so you can just imagine how much loving and petting and adoration this child will receive.
I ask that you will remember this family in your prayers as they journey far to bring the newest family member to America and her new home. Can you imagine how she will feel, leaving the orphanage, which is all she has ever known and coming to a new land, with new people, and strange food, who don't even talk like she does? I would imagine she will be in total confusion. She has just turned 3. Please pray that this transition will be easy for mother and daughter. God has been in this from the beginning, and we are trusting that He will continue to guide them all along the way! Godspeed, Sherrie!

That is amazing to think of it from the child's perspective. Wow. I pray everything will go well for them - both over there and also after they come home and adjust to life together.
First Tonja, I love love love your new header! Gorgeous!
Congrats on the award and thank you so much for sharing it with me. I'm really touched. Thanks sweet friend!
Oh, how wonderful for Sherrie and her family! Our son and DIL are still waiting for their little girl from China. I will include them in my prayers.
Hugs!

I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THAT SWEET SOPHIE!!!
My heart just soars for Sherrie and her new baby girl...and all her family! I have goose bumps just reading about this miracle. We have friends that adopted children from Russia...first a girl...then 3 years later a boy. The mom tells of her daughter sleeping at the foot of her new brothers bed when he first arrived. Upon questioning her about it, she told her mom...she didn't want him to be afraid...isn't it amazing the heart of little ones...how she must have remembered some of her own fears and was so willing to comfort her new little brother so he wouldn't be afraid. GOSH~ I just love kids!
Thanks for sharing the great news...and I love your new header...it looks so fresh and lively...bright and cheery...just like you!!
Blessings...
Teresa

Praying for your friend and her new daughter. What a true blessing to add a new life to her family. Keep us posted on her progress in China and of course, the joyful homecoming. Oh and don't forget pictures. I want pictures of this darling little girl.

ILOVE your new sunflower header. The blue sky and green leaves pop well with the other blue and green on your blog. And the sunflowers. I love them. Oh, did I say I love them there flowers!
Congrats on the award. This is a neat one that I've never seen.
Hi, this is my first time to visit here. I hope you don't mind me "popping in" like this!
This is such beautiful news! I pray God's speed and blessings for Sherrie and child on this trip. I'm tearing up just thinking of the wonderful life that child will have now! She is blessed.
Hey! I put scripture under foot at our house too. It seemed the the enemy did not want it to happen- I had to put it off for several days, then I would get one done and something would go wrong. I finally got it done- it doesn't look great, but it is there- He knows it and so do I! We are building on a firm foundation, and they are verses that I will always lean on! Thanks for showing us yours!
How amazing and touching! My little one is three and reading this I imagined her and what it would be like if she were suddenly in a new land with a new family. We will keep this precious little one in our prayers!
Hi Tonja,
Congratulations on your award and thank you so much for passing it on to me. It really means a lot coming from you.
This family story with the new child coming from China is so touching. Can you imagine all the emotions they're going through-their lives will be changed forever. God is good!

I'm so excited over your comment at my post! I'd love to know which FBC students you have met! I bet I know them. My son attended there the first year it opened and he still attends church there at West Gate. Did you meet the trio from FBC? I know all the girls, and Steven the pianist. Of course I know Tommy Thompson and his sweet family as well. It's so exciting!
Love your new blog header! Congratulations on the award. And so exciting about the adoption. Can't wait to hear an update.
Hey, girl, where are you?? It's a long time since Wednesday. Is everything ok?
