UPDATE ON ADAM

Thank you all so much for your prayers and concern for Adam yesterday and today. Funny how things can change in a matter of moments, isn't it? And it seems as though everything stops but what you are focused on.

He got out of the hospital at 3 this morning and had to be back at the Dr. office at 1. He told Adam that the surgery went perfectly. One of the retinas was completely detached, the other just torn. The longer the wait, the worse the outcome. Which is why they operated at 10 last night. He put a laser seal on both eyes to try to prevent this happening again. AGAIN? Yes, it could happen again, because of the way his eye is made. The doctor said this happening had nothing to do with the implants he had a few weeks ago. Now...the hardest part is going to be this...he has to stay completely face down for a week. While he is awake, while he is asleep...while he is doing anything! Bless his heart...but he can do it.

I have to say a word here about my daughter-in-love. Suzanne is so good to my boy. She loves him and cares for him just as I would. All this medical hoopla that comes with the 'Owens' name, has been new to her...but she has handled it with strength and courage and a wonderful attitude. I thank God for her everyday, and I thank her for being so clearly 'exactly what Adam needs'.

Friends, God is good. He is mighty. He is worthy of all praise and glory...and I thank Him with my whole being!

Great news!

I know how comforting it is to have someone love our sons and take care of them. I'm blessed with great daughter-in-loves too.

Hugs!

I'm so glad they were able to do the surgery right away. I'm sure that Suzanne will take care of your boy - he is certainly lucky to have someone like her - as are you!

I am sure he feels his vision is worth a week of being uncomfortable but I still feel bad for how frustrating this next week could be for him. I will be praying. Thank you for keeping us updated.

Tonya, I'm so glad to hear the surgery went well. My dad had the same surgery about three years ago and had to keep his head down for six weeks.

Best wishes to Adam (and Suzanne) during his recovery period. I will keep them in my prayers and will look forward to your updates on his progress.

Thanking the Lord for such a great outcome for Adam...I will continue to keep you all in my prayers.

Suzanne sounds like such a sweetheart...I know you feel blessed to have her in your life...and in Adams. I have a fabulous daughter-in-law, too...and I thank God every day for her...we are both truly blessed as are our sons.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as well...HOW are you feeling??? Rest for now, and tell Adam...for once in your life..."KEEP" your head down! (hmmm that is an expression we as mom's never tell our children...but hey, sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do).

Blessings...
Teresa

Just catching up on reading. So sorry to hear about Adam's eyes, but great news that they were able to operate successfully. I read another blogger who's son had an eye injury and had to be face-down for a week, too. I can't even imagine, but I know your son (and his wonderful wife!) will pull through. And happy birthday to Ian!
