THIS AND THAT

Wonder of wonders!!! I FINALLY have some dining chairs!!! Well, I do not actually have them, yet. BUT, they are on order and should be here soon. Don picked these out, and while they are not exactly what I wanted...they are fairly close. Oh, and it will be so good to finally have some chairs at the table!

I want to say for the record: if you have music on your blog that BLARES out when you connect to it...you can be held responsible for giving 'ladies of a certain age' a mild heart attack or at the very least a lack of bladder control!!!!!

I may or may not have personal experience with the following:

Are you familiar with Tom's shoes? To see the company philosophy please click here and read about what is being done to help those in need. They vow to give a pair of shoes to a needy child for each pair of shoes you purchase.
I had heard about these, but had never seen any in our town. However, I found some in another city over the summer, and bought a pair to see if they were as comfortable as they were touted to be. And, I am here to report...YES, YES THEY ARE!
And, the neat thing is that they are very simple and plain...yet they have a funky sort of vibe to them as well.
Now, I have heard that some women tend to get swelling of the feet and ankles when their glorious selves reach a certain age...I've only heard of this, you understand!!! So, let's pretend that awful fat ankle look has happened to me...and if it had happened...these shoes would have still been comfortable, and I would have still been able to walk...IF it had actually happened to me.

There are so many styles and colors...some quite unique. You can also get solid white or cream and paint them yourselves! Try them if you get a chance. I can tell you where to find them in Birmingham if you'd like to know. AND, I just received a discount code, so if you would like to order a pair, let me know and I will share it with you gladly!

And, my sweet niece, Tara, is on complete bedrest. She is expecting in November and is having a lot of blood pressure trouble. She's at 33 weeks and at 36 weeks, they will take him if the lungs are ready. Please keep them in your prayers. This is the first child for she and Will...and the first grandchild for Joy and Tommy...and the first great grandchild for Pop...and the first grand nephew for me!

So.. question: How have you been enjoying meals at your table without chairs? Have you been enjoying meals at your table??

I would LOVE a discount code! There are lots of Toms shoes on campus, but I haven't gotten a pair yet. I might with a discount code. :]

Praying for your niece. I'll be anxious to see pictures when your grand nephew arrives!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new chairs! Did I mention that I LOVE them?

My daughter's baby is due in November too so this post about your niece, Tara, is near and dear to me. I just stopped and prayed for her. Keep us posted!

The chairs are beautiful, lucky you! I will pray for your niece.
I know about Tom's shoes but haven't ordered them yet, I will have to try them. I wear birkenstocks all the time.
I have learned to keep the sound off on my computer!!! I can't read and listen at the same time.

Your chairs are beautiful, Tonja, and I know you and your family will enjoy them during the holidays. I hope you get them soon.

I know what you mean about music on some blogs scaring you. I've almost jumped out of my chair on several occasions.

So happy you're getting your chairs. They look wonderful.

You made me laugh out loud again. I hate when sites have music the minute you get on them. I usually have my own music going and then they try to outdo each other.

I'll pray for your niece right now. Our daughter Miki had that issue when she was expecting Bjorn, and I think my sister Betty did too when she was expecting Isaiah. He was actually born two months early and had a very tiny start. But now he's a husky 9-year-old, all caught up!

My favorite dining chairs of all---I love their sleek simplicity, and in a skirt---they become the Auntie Mame of the furniture world.

God Bless Your Dearies as they await this little one, and God Bless Baby on the Journey to this wonderful family.

Tonja...so glad you are getting the chairs you need to complete your dining set.

As for Tom's shoes...girl...I know this young man and his family. He is from a wonderful family, very intelligent and very active in the local community of my former home town of 32 years. His sister and our daughter went to school together and played volleyball for years together. His father is a prominient orthopedic surgeon and is mom has written a couple of books on fighting fat "Butter Busters" b/c of losing her brother at a very early age (in high school) b/c of a heart condition, so she was on a mission to stop heart disease caused by poor diet. This family is well-known in our community (my former home in TX) and they really take an interest in what is going on in the world. Blake (the founder of Tom's shoes and his sister Paige were on the show "Amazing Race" and have judged a couple of beauty pagents as well. They are a very beautiful family inside and out and I always found them to be very, very generous. It warms my heart that Blake's endeavors have been so well received and have helped countless people in the process. You know this is a young man with tons of ambition, good lucks, smarts and heart...he could have probably gotten by with little or nothing b/c of his families standings...but he chose to do something with his "blessings" and has in turn BLESSED many in return...Kudo's to Blake and Tom's shoes...and thanks for bringing his site to all of us to enjoy...read up on him if you haven't already...amazing!

Blessings...
Teresa

P.S. I am keeping Mommy, Baby and family in my prayers...our daughter is at 29 weeks...so we know the worries involved!
