WEDDING ... 70's STYLE !

I have scanned 70 wedding pics into the computer today and color corrected (what little I can) almost all of them. They are still orangey around the edges, and the colors have faded out in spots, but at least they are now safe from further damage.

FYI...I KNOW I was much more grown up than I look like in these pictures. I was a very mature 19 year old! And, Don...well doesn't he look like a very mature 21? Just babies...just babies. Our wedding date--December 30, 1972.

And, these were my bridesmaid's dresses. I know, everyone thought I was crazy back then, too. They all said, "But, they don't look like bridesmaids dresses." No, no
they didn't...but I loved them. And, the flowers, too. Just my style!

Mom, Pop, me, and Joy. I don't know how Mom got her hair up so high! And, those ruffled shirts and BIG bow ties! Wow, how styles change! I remember that her orchid corsage was the same color as her dress. And, the same color orchids were in my bouquet! Thanks, June...I had the most gorgeous bouquets!

Could my 'going away outfit' be any bolder? And, I still have my new black, suede shoes!

OMG they look just like my sisters and my wedding photos. I have to get a scanner and get them posted.
My husband and I were married in 1972. I can't believe how things have changed. I use to look at my parents photo and laugh at how old fashioned they looked. Now ours look that way.

I remember...especially the unusual color and size of the cymbidium orchids, very rare to find in those days. What a wonderful memory!

Both my daughters wedding flowers were flown into the airport early in the morning of their weddings from South America. No limits these days!! Hubby and I were married Nov 3, 1972 so I really do identify with your pictures.

Things have changed some... but your bouquets are very beautiful! Great idea to start scanning old pics.. a habit that should be taken up by many! (I'll let other family scan and email to me ;D)

What sweet pictures, Tonja. You did, indeed, look like a child bride ... and a very happy one.

Oh Tonja...I am loving going down memory lane with you! The pictures are awesome & you are so smart to scan them all...I'm going to have to try and do that myself. I was a very mature 19 when I married "lovin hubbin" in 1977 and he was 21...seems we have yet another thing in common. And I LOVE you mom's hair...how much back-combing do you think it took to get it so high? Do you remember the little wiglet things they used to wear, too, I think they were called cascades or something like that...basically it was so they could wear their short hair all stacked up on top of their heads...kind of a smaller version of Marge Simpson's do...how things have changed.

What a cute couple you guys are, too...loved the dresses and the flowers...

Blessings...
Teresa
