A TABLE FOR THE CREEK HOUSE...From China!

Thought you may like an update on the Creek House. These are 2 pictures of the front door and the front of the studio. I think here you can see how beautiful the mortar wash is. I love it! And, don't you love the beams on the front porch?

My furniture, from the gallery in Savannah, was delivered today. I was so excited to see my table. And it is better than I thought it could be. I love the color and the finish. To think of the history in this magnificent old door just makes me happy. I don't want you to worry that I will have to sit on the floor to eat. It does have legs...they are just not attached yet. The table weighs over 400 pounds,is 10 feet long, and it was hard enough to move it without adding the weight of the legs.

I have had a vision in this scattered brain of mine since our family started growing with children, and nieces and nephews, and now husbands and wives of children and nieces and nephews. I have wanted us to be able to gather together at one table...at one time...and every body share together. And now we can. Now I don't promise to prepare all the food to fill this massive table...hey, I built the house to house the table...but I'll set the table, and make the Sweet Tea. I may even fix a dish or two...but Mom and Joy are the real cooks. It's really gonna happen. I've got the family...and now I have the table. I have a fireplace and I have a beautiful floor. I have 1/2 of a kitchen...I just need the house...and the go ahead to move in! It's getting closer...the house...and the dream. Now, where can I find some chairs?....or we may really have to sit on the floor!

First of all, I can see why you can't wait to move in....your house looks wonderful. And that table! What gorgeous wood! I can just see it in a sunny room with a huge bowl of lucious fruit in the middle. Great news from China. That precious baby girl is on the road to a blessed life.

What a beautiful home!!!!
I spoke with the Peaks this morning which is night there and Sheris seemed a little down, she had gottenno where with Sophie all day, but as we were talking she begin throwing her toys as to play catch and begin laughing again no-stop. I think she must "come out of her shell" before bed. It was so sweet and much needed. But a quick as she open the door "BAM" she shut it. she walked over to her stroller, looked at Justin, he picked up, put her in the stroller, gave her her doll, covered her up, she looked at the light as to say turn off, and she was gone. Sheri says she falls asleep in the stroller and then they put her in bed. I know this breaks Sheri's little heart not to be able to rock and hold her to sleep, it broke mine just watching. Tommorrow will be a new day. Have a great day!

Oh! Tonja...EVERYTHING is looking great! Isn't it wonderful watching it all come together. I know you are anxious to "get in" and get started living in your new home. AND that table...one word...JEALOUS!! LOL...no! I'm not, I'm actually thrilled for you, it is gorgeous! I DO love it though, do you think I could order it's twin??? I am looking for a long harvest table, too...similar to yours...but a little smaller...I think...b/c the table I need to find will fit in the Hearth Room...so it doesn't have to seat as many people. I love that wood, it is gorgeous...and once my lovin' hubbin sees that picture...you better get a watch dog chained to it OR it could go missing. Of course I know he would have to enlists SEVERAL friends to come help him nab it...b/c of the sheer weight and size of it. I'm thinking it would be most difficult to "sneak" in and take it with an army of men...so I guess you have no worries!

Enjoy every second of this...and know I'm praying for a smooth move into your lovely, lovely new abode.

Blessings...
Teresa

I love the mortar wash. Is that something they put on top of bricks?

How rich is that table...very rich in looks and the deep texture.

When are you moving?
