THE INTRUDER

I feel like someone has been pulling this through my body this week! Sound like fun? Well actually, I have passed 3...3!!!!! kidney stones this week! One on Saturday, one on Sunday and another one yesterday! For those of you who have never had the pleasure of birthing one....thank your lucky stars! Because it feels as if you went through childbirth...with no epidural or anything...and you have only a little grain of sand to show for it. Needless to say, I'm not a happy camper. I was not able to go back to school at all, and know this creates a hardship for them. So a heaping pile of guilt on top of the pain. Of course, they understand, and want me to be well. Plus, they know if I was there I'd probably be saying things the children should never hear! Not really!!! I just say that at home! :)

But, I am better! Thank the Lord!

Ouch! I've never had one (and don't want one either). Dom has had 2 and he said the pain was unbelievable.

Hope you'll be feeling better really soon.

I am sad to say that I can relate to this post. Although I didn't pass my stone it got stuck and had to be removed. But you need to clarify, it is worse than giving birth! I have had 4 kids and only needed pain meds with the last one so I think I am qualified to testify on this one. I was out of myself in pain with my kidney stone. Incredible! Never want it again. I hope you are feeling lots better.

Tonja the picture of the barbed wire says it all!
God Love you girl! I will say a prayer for waves of water, not grains of sand.

Bless your dear heart! My husband had two....the first one scared us both to death and I have never seen him act like that. It was awful! Hoping you are better soon!!!

I completely empathize with you! I've had two major attacks .. the last one on a PLANE coming home from Canada!!!

Have mercy - I do not want to go through that again! At least with the labor pains, I had something to show for it!

Hey Tonja, check your email for a very funny "birth announcement" my stepbrother sent out after he "delivered" his kidney stone a few months ago. Glad you're feeling better.

Oh- how terrible. I've never had the pleasure, but I've heard many, many times how painful it is. Hope you are on the mend.

Do I know where Clinton is?!!! lol! That's my husband's home where his mom and most of his family live. (Cashwell's) We're down that way a couple times a month - it's 60 miles from where we live in Raleigh. ...small world!

I do hope you are feeling MUCH better. Those stones can nearly wipe a person out!

Definitely twice as painful as childbirth!! Couple of years ago I was rushed to the hospital in the early hours with one - thought someone was stabbing me with a carving knife in my sleep, such excruciating pain. Passed it but x-rays showed another in the other kidney so I'm prepared if that one ever starts to move!!!

Now I understand how doubly painfull for a guy - but then they need to understand a little what childbirth DOES feel like, right?

Get well - take care. Hope someone is spoiling you as you recuperate Tonja.

Oh Tonja! I'm so sorry to read you've had this happen while I was away and having fun. Bless your heart. My son has had three and I KNOW how painful they are. I hope things have calmed down completely.

Hugs and love!
