WHY???

I ran across these pictures while browsing the web. Can someone tell me why trees need panties? I just find it an unnecessary accessory. And besides, they look a little tight!

    Oh my word! It looks like it would be a person's two legs sticking up in the air and the rest of the body is buried in the ground! So how did they get them on there? Did they start at the top and pull them down, ha, ha!! Sooo funny!
